Privacy policy
This describes what GrammarLens does with your information. It is written to be read, not to cover me legally.
Before publishing: every claim below has to match what the app actually does. Check each section against the code. An inaccurate privacy policy is worse than a vague one — and Apple's review team does read this page.
Who I am
GrammarLens is made by Ahmet Emin Tayfur, an independent developer based in Istanbul, Turkey. There is no company behind it. If you have a question about anything on this page, email aet78@outlook.com.
What GrammarLens stores
Your practice history and settings are stored in a database on your own device. They are not uploaded to a server that I control, and I cannot read them.
Deleting the app deletes this data. There is no backup on my side to delete separately.
Confirm: does the app create an account, use iCloud sync, or collect an email address anywhere? If yes, that has to be described here.
Text sent for analysis
To explain a mistake, GrammarLens sends the sentence you entered to a language model API run by Anthropic. That request is what produces the explanation you see. Without it the app cannot work.
Do not enter passwords, financial details, medical information, or anything else you would not want processed by a third party. Enter sentences you want checked, and nothing more.
Confirm and complete: exactly what is included in each request — just the sentence, or also history and settings? Then read Anthropic's current API data-retention terms and state their retention period here, with a link.
Analytics
Decide, then write one of two things: if the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, say plainly that it collects no usage data and does not track you across apps. If it does contain one, name the tool, say what it collects, and link to its policy. This section must also match your App Store Connect privacy answers exactly.
Children
GrammarLens is not designed for children and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your data, and changes here
Because your practice data stays on your device, you already control it — deleting the app removes it. If you want to ask anything about data handling, email aet78@outlook.com and I'll answer.
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
